Visa Summary

This visa allows you to own and manage a business in Australia, conduct business and investment activity in Australia or undertake an entrepreneurial activity in Australia. This visa is only available to applicants who are nominated by an Australian State or Territory government and meet the points test for this visa. To be nominated, the applicant must lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the SkillSelect system.

This is a 4-year temporary visa, for people who want to own and manage a new or existing business in Australia. Once established an ownership interest in an Australian business, the applicant can apply for permanent residence through the Business Innovation & Investment (Permanent) Visa Subclass 888.

This visa is for the business people who have or may be able to get nomination from any state/territory to nominate them. In this stream applicant needs to pass the pool marks on the point’s table. You need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) and must receive an invitation to be eligible to apply for the visa.

Nomination Process:

Each State and Territory Government has its own list of suitability criteria. There may be specific requirements in relation to your business history, English language ability or specialized expertise in certain areas of business.

All applicants have to submit an expression of interest (EOI) via SkillSelect. SkillSelect will estimate a point’s score; if you score high enough, Australian state or territory government agencies will be able to view your EOI and decide if they want to nominate you.

If you are nominated by a state or territory agency, you will be invited to apply for the visa. If you are invited, you have 60 calendar days to apply for the visa.

You can only lodge a visa application after having received a nomination by a state or territory and an invitation from the Australian Government.
